If you are doing a Christian Easter, consider emphasizing lambs over rabbits. It has a wonderfully macabre aspect since, of course, the lamb is the metaphor not just for being meek and mild but also for being violently sacrificed. Also, lambs are just as cute as rabbits, but less corporate.
