hecuba with a little bit of orange in her tail and eyebrows

She is:

  • outraged at motion in the elevator lobby
  • very soft
  • eager to follow us around
  • currently sporting a judicious application of orange dye for the season
  • much cuddlier than she was at first, but still with room for improvement
  • sociable with one other dog, but overwhelmed when encountering many at once 1

Training status:

  • “leave it” is going well
  • the significant other’s patient efforts at teaching her fetch are making great progress, though she sometimes decides it’d be more fun to run off with whatever squeaking toy
  • she is rather less house-trained than we’d at first observed, but does well when we travel
  • she will affectionately lick a foot put near her when lying together on the couch. this is extremely weird at first, but cute. sometimes she nibbles and I think of her as one of those pedicure fish.

  1. To the point of retreating to the nearest pair of human ankles.
