listen to the 333 covers of 'last christmas' released since last christmas

I do love covers, but the original here is genuinely solid, so the less transformative versions¹ are gilding a lily. I would rather see covers of the Christmas songs that are too bad to like but which are still inexplicably popular. I’m talking real musical² improvements to:

• The Christmas Shoes
• Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer
• Do They Know It’s Christmas?
• Wonderful Christmastime
• Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
• Christmas In The Northwest (if you don’t live in the blast radius of this one, be grateful)

Looking at this list, I’m wondering if Gryla cursed the Beatles or something.

1. Whatever the hell this is is definitely within the same genre bubble as the original and yet very much has its own Thing. Some of the metal versions feel new, yet some don’t add much. ↩

2. Some of these desperately need a lyrical revamp as well, and also maybe song structure changes. ↩
