This is so cheering! A lot of different fiber arts work seems so clearly technological in an innovative way and yet entirely anonymous – it’s impossible to sit with two sticks and string and think yourself capable of reinventing it all, and yet we don’t have records of so much that (particular, individual, named) women came up with over the centuries.

Calling the granny square a Phelps square might be a bit much to change at this point, but I do like the idea of pivoting to “Phelps cardigans” if it’s not too late for that.
